Inês Soares
Violin
Born in Portugal, Inês is an award-winning violinist currently in the second year of the MMus course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studies with Professor Andrea Gajic and Maya Iwabuchi.
Inês has performed with some of Scotland’s most prestigious ensembles such as RSNO, Scottish Ensemble, BBCSSO and Hebrides Ensemble. She has also been appointed the role of concertmaster for various projects such as the RCS Symphony Orchestra and the Roaming Roots concert for the Celtic Connections Festival documented by BBC Scotland. Over the years she has been given the opportunity to be part of various projects such as “Beethoven, Burns and the Folksong” film commissioned by the Burns Society of New York guided by acclaimed opera singer, Karen Cargill. The project continued with the “National Trust For Scotland Tour” in June 2022. She has also been invited to play solo with The Skibo Castle Strings ensemble in November 2023.
Inês’ performances are described as “very beautiful and impassioned” and their concept being “unusual, innovative, commendable and thoroughly enjoyable”. Through the past few years, she has developed a passion for exploring contemporary and less known repertoire as well as ways of presenting it that will create meaningful and creative inducing experiences for both her and the audiences.
