Viola

August Zillig is an accomplished young violist. Recently, August participated as the violist for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra mentorship scheme and won second prize at the Watson Forbes Viola Competition. August is also a frequent performer of new and experimental music, interested in finding new and fresh ways to engage with audiences using sonority.

Frequently working in collaboration with composers in both the U. K. and U. S., August has brought many new works to life with experimental tuning methods, notations, and extended techniques. August is currently in his first year of a two year Masters of Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
