Annabel Stevens
Violin
Annabel Stevens is a 20-year-old violinist from Nottingham, currently studying at the RCS with Andrea Gajic and Katrina Lee. She began playing in her school violin group at the age of 5, but her first experience of chamber music was five years later, playing the viola part in string quartets. This is Annabel’s second year as a Scholar at the Festival, and over the last 12 months she has continued performing around Scotland. Last summer, Annabel performed in the GRIT orchestra at the Edinburgh International Festival and was part of a string quartet that played for the King at Dumfries House. More recently, she was awarded first place in the RCS Dunbar-Gerber Prize for chamber music with her duo partner, pianist Dida Condria.
Annabel has also taken part in professional schemes with the Scottish Ensemble and the RSNO, and she continues to work regularly as an Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation.
