The Cantilena Children’s Festival of Art

The Cantilena Children’s  Festival of Art was established in 2005 and takes place annually in Islay House during the same week as the Cantilena Festival on Islay.  Over the years, there has been some magnificent work created by many children from all over Islay.  Past work includes a drawing and printing workshop, Sea Monsters – an exploration of mythical and magical creatures of the deep that resulted in the construction of a ‘glow in the dark’ 15 ft sea monster!  50 Figures: a project based on Paul Klee’s hand puppets and a book ,making workshop that focused on Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities.  The work is displayed in an annual exhibition which takes place during the Cantilena summer festival and is open to all!
Pictures of recent work will be appearing on our Gallery soon
